GSMESKILL FINAL CONFERENCE – KILIFI, KENYA

On December 3rd, 2025, the Consortium hosted the GSMESKILL Final Conference, at Pwani University in Kilifi, Kenya. This milestone event was the core of a three-day transnational meeting (December 2–4) hosted by our partner Ustadi and led by the project coordinator, Eduforma, marking the official conclusion of the GSMESKILL project.

The conference brought together more than 100 participants, including trainers, policy makers, TVET providers, and young entrepreneurs, creating a vibrant space for mutual exchange. During the event, the full consortium presented the definitive results achieved through three years of intensive cooperation.

Among the primary outcomes, the project delivered a comprehensive mapping of skills and labor market opportunities across Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa, establishing a solid scientific foundation for future vocational strategies. To translate these insights into action, the partners developed the GSMESKILL Training Toolbox, which includes 8 transversal modules enriched with practical assets such as networking role-plays, mock budget exercises, and resource mobilization plans designed to turn green theory into business success.

A key pillar for long-term impact is the GSMESKILL E-Learning Platform, a digital hub providing flexible modules in English, Swahili, and Afrikaans. This platform features a dedicated “Networking Forum” to foster continuous peer learning across continents.

Finally, the conference concluded with the presentation of Strategic Policy Recommendations, offering a formal roadmap to help national policy makers build more resilient, digital, and sustainable educational ecosystems aligned with the global green transition.

This gathering celebrated the “Green Mindset” cultivated over 36 months, ensuring that the project’s legacy continues through open-access materials and a “Train-the-Trainers” approach that empowers local educators to scale these tools in their own communities.

The Final Conference in Kilifi marked not only the formal closure of the GSMESKILL project, but also the consolidation of a coherent and transferable body of results. Through evidence-based analysis, practical training tools, and open-access digital resources, the project has delivered concrete instruments for strengthening green, inclusive, and market-oriented skills development in the TVET sector. The legacy of GSMESKILL lies in the durability of its outputs and in the capacities built among trainers, institutions, and stakeholders, ensuring that the project’s impact will remain accessible and usable well beyond its implementation period.
