The Project

Learning Materials in
GSMESKILL e-learning platform

We designed GSMESKILL Platform to be intuitive and engaging:

  • Clear navigation with dedicated sections for curricula, learning modules, and a Networking Forum.
  • Aggregated materials including case studies, exercises, and worksheets.

👉 Whether you’re a student, trainer, or SME owner or manager, GSMESKILL platform can be your entry point to developing the skills needed for green entrepreneurship.

🔎 Spotlight on the materials

The core of the Platform materials has been developed within the third phase (“Work Package 3”) of our project, with the goal of producing a Training Toolbox → a comprehensive set of learning assets, materials, activities, templates & much more supporting TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training).

8 Transversal Thematic Sections

👉 These sections form the transversal backbone of the Training Toolbox, ensuring a consistent skills set across all partner countries while adapting methodologies, pedagogical approaches, practical activities, and social, political, and legal references to local contexts.

Practical Activities

… such as mock budget exercises, networking role plays, actionable resource mobilization plans and activities to turn theory into practice through group work, role plays, and real-life simulations.

Case Studies

Modules include applied examples, like crowdfunding initiatives in South Africa and Kenya and networking scenarios for small green businesses in Nigeria, allowing learners to analyze successes and challenges while drawing lessons to tailor to their own projects.

Green focus throughout

Every section integrates sustainability ensuring that entrepreneurial skills are always linked to environmental responsibility.

👩‍💻How to Navigate the Platform & Make the Most of It

The Platform is very easy to navigate, here are the Steps we recommend:

Step 1: Choose your language (English, Afrikaans, Swahili/Kiswahili) on the top left corner. This will be the language in which you will view your curriculum learning materials and resources.

Step 2: From the top menu, access the main areas: Home, Networking Forum, Curricula, Contact Us.

Step 3: In the Curricula section, select your country (Kenya, South Africa, Nigeria) and open the corresponding training curriculum.

Step 4: Each curriculum is divided into modules and sub-modules, covering the 8 transversal themes. You can scroll, read online, or download the PDF materials.

Step 5: Additional areas offer space for interaction and exchange. Explore the Networking Forum, a dedicated space for learners, trainers, and SMEs to share experiences, exchange ideas, and build collaborations. For questions or feedback to be addressed to GSME Consortium, use the Contact Us section to directly reach us.👉 In short: a one-stop, user-friendly repository where all GSMESKILL learning materials are accessible at a click.

🌟 Platform strengths we’re proud of:

  • One hub: access all curricula and resources in your preferred language 1 place
  • Blended Learning Resources: Combines text-based content, worksheets, slides, case studies sheets, templates, and hands-on exercises.
  • Downloadable Tools: The various tools are encapsulated in ready-to-use easily downloadable PDFs.
  • Local Relevance & Contextual Adaptation: Each curriculum embeds local case studies, examples, challenges, exercises & activities relevant to South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria in the respective languages (+ English!).
  • Learner-Centered Design: Self-paced modules let learners move at their speed, revisit content, and build mastery.
  • Community & Interaction: GSME Platform “Networking Forum” section is a collaborative space for discussion, peer review, and exchange across countries and diverse learners.

Scalable & Sustainable: The platform is meant to be a long-term lasting resource beyond the project timeline, serving as a repository function for GSME learning assets  usable for new learners, trainers, and partner expansions.
